Pub Quiz & Prize Raffle

Sunday 25th May 2025 6:30pm

The second annual Pub Quiz was held on Sunday, May 25th at Southwater Sports Club on behalf of Horsham Parkinson's UK branch. The quiz was kindly and professionally hosted by Steve Holloway as quiz-master and questions were provided by Melissa Ling. Following the quiz a prize raffle was held. We were thrilled to raise a whopping £1443.79!

The event was organised by Sher Alway, in collaboration with committee members; Emma and Maija.

It was a wonderful evening with people of all ages. A selection of delicious snacks were available for a small donation organised by Sher and Liz. There was an amazing turnout and in total there were 20 teams participating. The club was packed to capacity, necessitating the discreet “borrowing” of chairs from the local church. We extend our gratitude to Godfrey, vicar, for his understanding, by the way! The winning team was the bar staff, who generously donated their prize money back to the charity.

Sher, Carl and Emma were determined to sell as many raffle tickets as possible before the event started but lets be honest Carl's impressive sales skills played the biggest factor in their success!

Sher, Emma, Carl, Maija and Chrissie reached out to local businesses who were incredibly generous and donated some of the raffle prices. We would like to express our sincere gratitude to the following businesses for their kindness:-

Fishers Farm, Black Jug, Horsham Golf and Fitness, Rookwood Golf Club, Halfords, Co-op, Linseed flax farm, Domino's, Haldi, Capital Chinese, Coco's, Drizzle and Swirl, Waitrose, Tesco, Vinegar Hill, Boars Head, Hungry Hounds, Pets Corner.

We would also like to thank the following individuals for their generosity in donating some fantastic raffle prizes:-

Steve B, Jeremy, Roy, Imogen, and Mike H.

Thanks to all who helped make this a resounding success but a particular huge shout out to Sher, Carl, Melissa and Steve Holloway.
